On April 25, 2024, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as "CAICT") and Sunny Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as "Sunny") held the signing and unveiling ceremony of the co-construction agreement of the Extended Reality (XR) Evaluation Joint Laboratory. Mr. Wei Ran, Chief Engineer of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, and Mr. Wang Wenjie, Executive Director/Executive Vice President of Sunny Group, attended the event and witnessed the signing. The ceremony was presided over by Li Chuanfeng, deputy chief engineer of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.

Wei Ran extended a warm welcome to Wang Wenjie and his entourage, and introduced the work of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology in the field of extended reality. He said that the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology has continued to invest resources in extended reality industry and technology research, and has developed extended reality software and hardware interface compatibility test tools and MTP delay test equipment, which has promoted the continuous iteration of extended reality technology and industrial development and progress in China. In the next step, it is hoped that the two sides can give full play to their respective advantages and establish a close cooperative relationship.

Wang Wenjie affirmed the work and achievements made by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology in recent years, and introduced the key work carried out by Sunny. He said that the establishment of the joint laboratory is not only an affirmation of our previous cooperation achievements, but also a prospect for future cooperation. In the next step, it is hoped that the two sides will achieve a strong alliance and complement each other's advantages, and gradually form a scientific and comprehensive evaluation standard system to provide strong guidance for the optimization of XR products in display, positioning, interaction and other aspects.

The Extended Reality (XR) Evaluation Joint Laboratory aims to develop extended reality evaluation system solutions by giving full play to the advantages of both parties and using evaluation as a bridge, providing richer testing and verification methods for the research and development of extended reality devices, promoting the continuous improvement of the performance of extended reality products, bringing users a more extreme user experience, and promoting the sustainable development of the extended reality industry.
