On January 17, 2024, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and the VIETNAM TELECOMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY(VNTA) of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) jointly held a 5G seminar online. This is the first technical exchange event after a high-level delegation led by Vietnam's MIC, Nguyen Manh Hung, visited CAICT on November 30, 2023 and reached a cooperation intention. Experts from the CAICT's CTTL Terminal Labs, Institute of Technology and Standards, Mobile Communication Innovation Center and POTIN attended the seminar. Huawei's branch in Hanoi, Vietnam, supported the seminar at VNTA.
At the seminar, experts from the Institute of Technology and Standards of the CAICT introduced the development results and exploration experience of China's 5G application from the aspects of policy, standard, industry and application, as well as the relevant work and capabilities carried out by the CAICT in the field of 5G application. Experts from the CTTL Terminal Labs of the CAICT introduced the laboratory's organizational structure, qualification authorization, standardization work, testing capabilities, the latest developments in the field of international testing and certification, the progress of 5G OTA standardization, and 5G OTA innovative solutions. The two sides also had in-depth discussions on national and local policies, industry cultivation, application promotion and equipment supervision related to 5G.
VNTA Director Nguyen Thanh Phuc highly appreciated CAICT's research and testing capabilities in 5G, agreed with CAICT's initiative to carry out cooperation in standardization and other fields under the ITU framework, and was willing to carry out follow-up technical exchanges and business cooperation with CAICT on 5G and other new technologies in terms of supervision, testing and application promotion.
The CAICT adheres to the development orientation of "a national high-end professional think tank industrial innovation and development platform", and has been committed to expanding international cooperation, strengthening international exchanges, and helping domestic enterprises to "go global". In the future, CAICT will continue to work closely with VNTA and other regulatory agencies in various countries and regions around the world to promote the innovation and development of China's communications industry, achieve deep globalization, and play a more important leading role in the international arena.
