On July 16, 2024, the "eSIM Technology Seminar" hosted by the Telecommunication Terminal Industry Forum Association (TAF) and undertaken by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "CAICT") was held in Xining, Qinghai. With the theme of "Embracing Digital Innovation and Development", the seminar was attended by leaders and experts from all walks of life such as operators, equipment vendors, and chip companies to discuss the innovation and development of eSIM technology and the industry.

Lu Limin, Director of China Unicom's eSIM Operation Support Center, Chang Zhigang, Senior Product Manager of Mobile Communication Product Line of Unisplendour Tongxin Microelectronics Co., Ltd., Ding Zhanyang, Product Director of Dongxin Peace Technology Co., Ltd., Chen Xiaobo, Director of Innovation Business of Shenzhen Jieruilian Technology Co., Ltd. (Black Tea Mobile), Zhu Yuhong, Technical Director of Communication Innovation Business of Huawei Device Co., Ltd., Liang Huarui, senior manager of Apple's standards department, shared their development practices and prospects for eSIM innovation, standards, products and markets, and Duo Hao, deputy chief engineer of the CAICT, released the blue book of "Research on eSIM Technology and Industrial Development Trends", which was chaired by Duo Hao, the deputy chief engineer of CTTL-T.

In his speech, Shi Xiaoguang emphasized the importance of eSIM technology in the field of digital innovation and the significance of this seminar, affirmed the efforts made by the TAF in promoting the healthy development of domestic eSIM technology and industry, and hoped that all sectors of the industry would actively contribute wisdom and strength to the technological innovation, industrial resilience and ecological construction of eSIM.

In the guest sharing session, Lu Limin, director of China Unicom's eSIM operation support center, shared the development prospects of eSIM technology in the AI era, believed that "AI+5G+eSIM" is the best choice for the future intelligent terminal industry, and introduced China Unicom's eSIM industry cooperation plan.

Chang Zhigang, Senior Product Manager of Mobile Communication Product Line of Unisplendour Tongxin Microelectronics Co., Ltd., shared the future trend of eSIM product quality, product innovation, expansion scenarios, and global use based on the company's latest eSIM global commercial innovation solutions and practices.

Ding Zhanyang, product director of Dongxin Peace Technology Co., Ltd., shared the progress of the three sets of current mainstream eSIM specifications, and introduced the company's eSIM solution practice and eSIM enabling communication and connection progress.

Chen Xiaobo, Director of Innovation Business of Shenzhen Jieruilian Technology Co., Ltd. (Black Tea Mobile), pointed out that compared with traditional connection solutions, eSIM connection solutions have strong application value of reducing costs and increasing efficiency, and the company will help Chinese car companies to provide global communication solutions overseas.

Zhu Yuhong, Technical Director of Communication Innovation Business of Huawei Device Co., Ltd., shared the important role of eSIM in the 5.5G era.

Liang Huarui, senior manager of Apple's standards department, shared the development history of eSIM, introduced the development progress and market scale of the company's support for eSIM products, and pointed out the importance of promoting and developing eSIM from the perspectives of global eSIM standard formulation, market distribution, operator support, and market development forecast.

In this seminar, Duohao of CTTL-T released the the blue book "Research on eSIM Technology and Industry Development Trends jointly prepared by the CTTL-T of the CAICT and Potin-tech (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. ", the release of the Blue Book provides an important reference and guidance for the development of the eSIM industry.

Subsequently, Lu Limin, the rotating chairman of the eSIM Industry Management Committee of the TAF, introduced the work results and future work plan of the Management Committee. In the future, the Management Committee will continue to promote the ecological development of the domestic eSIM industry in three aspects: accelerating process implementation, promoting technical research, and doing a good job in industry leadership.

In the roundtable discussion session, the speakers conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the development status, challenges and future opportunities of the domestic eSIM industry, and jointly offered suggestions and suggestions for promoting the further development of the eSIM industry in China.
