Recently, the Society of Automotive Engineers of China issued the announcement No. 388, and the group standard of T/CSAE 371-2024 "Test Method for Data Distribution Service (DDS) for Intelligent Connected Vehicles" was officially released, which was led by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as the CAICT), proposed by the Electronic and Electrical Architecture and Network Working Group of the China Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry Innovation Alliance, and jointly with Great Wall Motor, FAW Group, Geely Automobile, Changan Automobile, BAIC, Chery Automobile and 16 other units jointly compiled and standardized the test of DDS protocol consistency, protocol functions (including QoS), and safety functions for vehicles. As a leading distributed real-time communication middleware (DDS) test standard in the field of intelligent networked vehicles at home and abroad, the release and implementation of this standard provides an important standard basis for the R&D, verification and evaluation of on-board equipment and systems using DDS technology, and is of great significance for promoting the standardized deployment of DDS in on-board equipment and systems.
Standard background
Data Distribution Service (DDS) is a distributed real-time communication middleware specification. In the automotive field, with the increasing demand for intelligent and connected vehicles, car companies and suppliers have begun to widely pay attention to and apply DDS as the middleware of in-vehicle controller software. Due to the complexity of the DDS protocol, it is difficult and complex to accept and evaluate the on-board equipment and systems using DDS technology. This standard formulates the corresponding automotive DDS test method according to the international OMG Alliance's DDS series technical requirements, which provides an important basis for related test work.
Standard content
The standards mainly include protocol conformance testing, protocol function testing and security function testing, as shown in the figure below.
Standard application
Drawing on the test principle of SOME/IP middleware in the TC8 ECU test specification of the Automotive Ethernet OPEN Alliance, CAICT takes the lead in innovating and independently developing automotive DDS test tools according to this standard to ensure the application of the standard, and can also support automotive DDS performance testing and other customized development requirements required by DDS, providing authoritative and professional DDS testing services for the industry, and supplementing an important part of the automotive Ethernet protocol stack test.
CAICT has developed its own vehicle DDS test tool (iCV DDS Test Tool).
The release of this standard and the research and development of test tools have strongly supported domestic OEMs to take the lead in mass production and use of the DDS middleware protocol, realize the SOA architecture layout, cope with the complexity and diversity of autonomous driving scenarios, and improve the intelligence level and flexibility of vehicles.
