On August 31, 2023, the European Commission published Regulation 2023/1669, which stipulates that from June 20, 2025, smartphones and tablets sold in the EU must bear an energy label, and the EEI level is essential as an important indicator of this.
EEI stands for Energy Efficiency Index, measured in 1/W.
In cooperation with SmartViser in France, based on the first pilot application test software developed by the French company, CTTL Terminal Labs (CTTL-T) has built a test system that can fully comply with the energy efficiency index (EEI) in the EU energy label, with a repeatable and reliable test process, and provides terminal manufacturers with EEI testing services for smartphones and tablets.
In addition, smartphones and tablets placed on the EU market must display information on their energy efficiency, battery life, protection against dust and water, and protection against accidental drops, according to the EU Energy Labelling Regulation. This is the first time that a product on the EU market has been required to display a repairability score. The CTTL-T has complete testing and evaluation capabilities for the Ecodesign Act (EU) 2023/1670 and the Energy Efficiency Rating Labeling Act (EU) 2023/1669, which can provide enterprises with a complete evaluation program.
