Recently, at the 157th meeting of the CTIA MIMO OTA Working Group (10th in 2024), Dr. Sun Siyang from the CTTL Terminal Labs of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as "CAICT") was elected as the co-chair of the CTIA MIMO OTA working group, becoming the first representative in Chinese mainland to hold this position, achieving a breakthrough in the field of CTIA.
CTIA is a major leader in global mobile communication standards, founded in 1984, and its main members include the five major wireless carriers in the United States, leading wireless equipment manufacturers, test instrument and system manufacturers and testing laboratories, and is committed to providing certification systems for wireless products and services. Develop and maintain wireless industry technical standards and specifications to ensure that wireless product performance meets the requirements of relevant standards. CTIA MIMO OTA is one of the core working groups of CTIA, which is responsible for formulating technical standards and test specifications for the performance of air interface multi-antenna of wireless terminal equipment to ensure that the air interface multi-antenna performance of wireless terminals meets the evolving needs and challenges of future wireless communication networks.
Dr. Sun Siyang's election as co-chair marks the further enhancement of CAICT's influence in international core standards organizations. In the future, CAICT will continue to work closely with industry partners to explore and jointly promote international standards and industry processes for wireless communications.
