On December 21, 2023, in order to continue to promote the high-quality development of the Beidou positioning industry, the CTTL Terminal Labs (CTTL-T) of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology hosted the fifth working group meeting of the Satellite Terminal Working Group (WG6) of the Telecommunications Terminal Industry Association, and held a heated discussion on the two standards of "Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Satellite Positioning Capability of Mobile Intelligent Terminals" and "Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Satellite Positioning Capability of Mobile Application Software".
An Xudong, director of the antenna and positioning department of the CTTL-T, presided over the meeting. An Xudong said that recently, the CTTL-T has carried out a test of Beidou's independent positioning ability for all models of digital mobile phones that have newly obtained network access licenses, and has synchronously mapped the Beidou function of mainstream navigation map applications. After testing, it is found that the Beidou positioning support rate of terminal equipment continues to improve, but there is still room for improvement in Beidou positioning performance, and it is necessary to strengthen the Beidou priority support capability. Through the formulation and guidance of standards, the CTTL-T hopes to further consolidate the consensus of the industry and provide technical reference and guidance for enterprises to develop, produce, test and verify Beidou-related products.
The "Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Satellite Positioning Capability of Mobile Intelligent Terminals" mainly stipulates the functional requirements, performance requirements and test methods of Beidou independent positioning, Beidou priority positioning and single Beidou positioning of mobile intelligent terminals. After full discussion by the participants, this standard successfully passed the draft for review and entered the approval stage. "Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Satellite Positioning Capability of Mobile Application Software" mainly stipulates the standardized display of Beidou navigation information of mobile application software and the requirements of APP self-calculation for Beidou priority, Beidou independence and single Beidou positioning.
Subsequently, the CTTL-T will continue to improve the Beidou standard system for terminal equipment, actively build a public service platform for Beidou priority testing and certification, and launch product benchmarking verification tests in a timely manner based on the above standards. The Thiel Terminal Laboratory will provide strong support for the high-quality development of Beidou positioning in the field of information and communication through standard formulation and testing and certification guidance, and comprehensively promote the integrated development of terminal equipment and Beidou satellite navigation technology in the field of information and communication.
