UFCS is a fast charging technology that promotes the integration and interconnection of terminals and charging technologies of different manufacturers, and has significant advantages in charging safety, efficiency improvement, and cost reduction, which is not only suitable for mobile phones, tablets, speakers, VR and other terminal products, but also can be widely used in various charging scenarios such as industrial pads, electric vehicles, small household appliances, power tools, and public transportation facilities, and is an important foundation for building a convergent, unified and green charging infrastructure.
In order to unite the strength of the industry, integrate the terminal charging technology standard, establish an integrated fast charging standard system, promote the green and low-carbon development of the industry, and provide consumers with a better charging experience, in 2022, the China Communications Standards Association, together with the Telecom Terminal Industry Forum Association and the Guangdong Terminal Fast Charging Industry Association, established the Terminal Fast Charging Technology and Standards Promotion Committee (CCSA TC626) to coordinate and promote the research, standard formulation, testing and certification, industrial application and ecological construction of the integrated fast charging technology.
Certification is an effective means to promote the rapid entry of products with UFCS functions into the market, and it is also an innovative exploration to promote the implementation of integrated fast charging standards, promote the interoperability of fast charging terminals, and improve the quality and market competitiveness of fast charging products. To this end, the China Communications Standards Association and the Telecom Terminal Industry Association authorized Thiel Certification Center Co., Ltd. to carry out the integrated fast charging function certification according to the UFCS technology series standards. Since the launch of the certification work, the upstream and downstream enterprises of the fast charging industry chain have actively supported, and the number of terminal equipment, accessories, chips and other types of products with UFCS function has grown rapidly. By the end of November 2024, 160 UFCS Fusion Fast Charging Certificates have been issued. At present, the three major domestic mobile phone brands Huawei, OPPO and vivo have fully supported UFCS fusion fast charging technology. Among them, Huawei has launched a total of 22 converged fast charging products, including 5 mobile phones, 3 tablets, and 14 chargers, including the first batch of HUAWEI Mate Xs 2 and the recently released HUAWEI Mate 70 series. OPPO has launched a total of 30 converged fast charging products, including 27 mobile phones and 3 chargers, and from 2024, all of OPPO's mobile phone products will support UFCS converged fast charging. Vivo has launched a total of 27 converged fast charging products, including 10 mobile phones and 17 chargers. From the fourth quarter of 2024, OPPO and vivo's new integrated fast charging power will reach 44W.
With the launch and improvement of UFCS version 2.0, it is expected that more mobile phones, tablets and other terminal devices will support UFCS fusion fast charging in the future, and 44W non-authentication fusion fast charging will be widely popularized to achieve further breakthroughs in charging power.
Subsequently, CCSA TC626 will continue to promote the evolution and testing and certification of UFCS fusion fast charging technology standards, fully implement the implementation of UFCS fusion fast charging standards in the mobile phone industry, actively guide the introduction of UFCS fusion fast charging technology in various charging scenarios, connect the upstream and downstream of the fast charging industry chain, realize the interconnection and integration of various types of devices, and work with Huawei, OPPO, vivo, and Honor to help the green development of the industry, bringing users a more environmentally friendly and safe fast charging experience.
