The visual health standard specification for display terminals was released and the research report was launched

In the digital age, smart display terminals have become an indispensable part of our lives and work. However, with the increase of time used, visual health issues are becoming more prominent, especially for minors and those who spend a lot of time in front of screens. After a long period of research and demonstration, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "CAICT") has joined hands with Zhongshan Ophthalmology Center of Sun Yat-sen University, China Quality Certification Center, Taier Certification Center, equipment manufacturers and other units to jointly formulate a series of standards and technical specifications for the visual health of intelligent terminals, aiming to provide users with a safer and healthier visual experience.

On September 21, 2024, the CTTL-Terminal Labs of the CAICT was invited to participate in the 6th Intelligent Ophthalmology Congress held in Shanghai. At the opening ceremony and plenary meeting, the release of the visual health standards/specifications of smart terminals and the official launch of the "Smart Display Terminal Visual Health Research Report" were carried out.

The press conference was held by Yuan Jin, Vice Dean of Zhongshan Ophthalmology Center of Sun Yat-sen University, Yan Hua, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin Medical University, Zhou Xingtao, President of the Eye and Otolaryngology Hospital of Fudan University, Wang Dongsheng, Chairman of the Ophthalmology Professional Committee of China Medical Equipment Association, Zheng Juan, Director of Product Certification Division I of China Quality Certification Center, Chen Yong, Director of the Institute of Certification of CAICT, and Guo Gan, Deputy Director of the CTTL-Terminal Labs of CAICT, jointly unveiled the curtain of standards and technical specifications. It marks a solid step in the field of visual health protection for smart terminals.

Standard Release

At the press conference, the above leaders jointly launched the "Research Report on the Visual Health of Intelligent Display Terminals". With the launch of the report, we believe that more scientific and practical achievements will emerge in the future, injecting new vitality into the visual health protection of smart terminals.

Study Startup

At the meeting, Chang Shuai, a professor at Zhongshan Ophthalmology Center of Sun Yat-sen University, shared a report entitled "The Relationship between Different Types of Display Terminal Hardware Parameters and Eye Health" in the virtual reality visual health section, and analyzed, summarized and thought about the impact of different types of display terminal hardware parameters on visual health from the clinical evaluation process of subjects. Wang Yajun, Senior Engineer of the Smart Terminal Assessment Department of CTTL Terminal Labs, made a report entitled "Research on Display Terminal Use and Adolescent Visual Health", which synthesized the relationship between adolescent visual health and display terminal use, and introduced the possible harm to the eyes, research data, standard process and eye protection technology.

In this digital era full of challenges and opportunities, it is our common responsibility and mission to protect people's visual health, let us go hand in hand and contribute wisdom and strength to protect visual health! You are welcome to join us.
