The 4th China-Japan Electrical and Electronic Products Environmental Forum was held in Beijing


On December 7, 2023, the 4th China-Japan Electrical and Electronic Products Environmental Forum was held in Beijing. Wei Ran, Chief Engineer of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), Yuan Ling, Director of the Environmental Protection Division of the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Acting Director of the Information Industry Division of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, attended the forum and delivered speeches. More than 200 experts and representatives from the four groups of Japan Electrical and Electronic Electronics (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industry Association, Japan Electrical Electronics Industry Association, Japan Business Machines Information System Industry Association, Japan Communication Systems Industry Association), as well as leading electrical and electronic enterprises, scientific research institutions, industry associations and third-party testing institutions from both sides, participated in the forum online and offline. The meeting was presided over by Wu Tongning, deputy director of the CTTL Terminal Labs (CTTL-T) of the CAICT.

Wei Ran said that promoting the green development of the electrical and electronic industry is a systematic project, which requires the cohesion of all walks of life, the integration of resources from all parties, and the construction of a beautiful earth. Yuan Ling said that it is necessary to further improve the cooperation and exchange mechanism between the governments of the two countries, industries and enterprises, learn from each other's advanced experience and practices, guide electrical and electronic enterprises to improve the level of green manufacturing, and promote the green development of industry. Moe Imamura hopes that through this forum, the cooperation and exchange mechanism between China and Japan will be more stable.

Lu Chunyang, deputy chief engineer of the CTTL-T of CAICT, introduced the latest progress of China's RoHS work. Guo Li, the Huanlu Center of China Electronics Standardization Institute, explained the promotion of supporting standards for pollution prevention and control of electrical and electronic products. Marcelo Fasano, Deputy Director of the China Working Group of the Product Environmental Expert Committee of the 4 Electrical and Electronic Groups of Japan, introduced the experience of RoHS in Japan. Hao Yun of the CTTL-T of CAICT explained and analyzed the green environmental protection of the digital empowerment manufacturing industry. Gong Xun, Director of Environmental Affairs of Lenovo (Beijing) Co., Ltd., shared that the integration of data and reality can help the green and low-carbon development of technology enterprises. Mr. Tatsuro Iwasa of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. shared his work related to digital environmental protection in Japan's manufacturing industry.

The next step is to further improve the cooperation and exchange mechanism between the two governments, industries and enterprises, learn from each other's advanced experience and practices, and guide electrical and electronic enterprises to improve the level of green manufacturing and promote the green development of industry.

The terminal laboratory has long been engaged in green and low-carbon environmental protection testing and consulting in the electrical and electronics industry, supported the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to carry out research on China's RoHS legislation and supporting policies, and supported the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Administration for Market Regulation to establish a public service platform for China's RoHS. In the next step, the CTTL-T will increase its support, carry out in-depth research on the green and low-carbon development of the electrical and electronic industry, and make more contributions to the green and high-quality development of the industry.
