The biometric security detection of CTTL helps smart terminal companies expand overseas markets

In recent years, biometric technology has diversified and is widely used in various scenarios such as device unlocking, mobile payment, and attendance punching. While biometrics brings convenience, its security issues have also attracted much attention.

The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "Laboratory") has been paying close attention to the development of biometric technology and industry, and has established the automatic detection capability of multi-modal biometrics such as fingerprints and faces, which has been accredited by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), which can be based on ISO 19795 "Information Technology Biometric Performance Test and Report" and ISO 30107 "Information Technology - Biometric Presentation Attack Detection" and other international standards to carry out biometric function, performance and security testing.

As a provider of the Android operating system, Google requires that smart terminal devices equipped with Android systems and biometric modules must pass the biometric security test of authorized laboratories, that is, only if they meet the requirements of biometric technology in the Android Compatibility Definition Document (CDD), they will be recognized as compatible with the Android operating system, and then equipped with Google Mobile Services (GMS) to meet the requirements of terminals going overseas.

At present, the laboratory has been officially authorized and recognized by Google, and by building an international leading knowledge base of attack samples and a fully automated detection system, it provides one-stop fingerprint recognition, face recognition and other technical testing services for dozens of upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain, and completes the adaptation and first batch of testing of the latest Android 14 version of CDD.

In the next step, the laboratory will continue to follow up the latest biometric testing and certification technical requirements at home and abroad, continuously improve the level of testing technology, update and iterate testing methods and content, help enterprises scientifically, comprehensively and efficiently test biometric security protection capabilities, and help enterprises smoothly expand overseas markets.
