A seminar on standards for the protection of personal information for intelligent connected vehicles was held

In recent years, with the rapid development of intelligent networked vehicles, it can provide users with more intelligent and personalized services by collecting personal information such as vehicle owners' driving tracks, driving habits, face fingerprints, and in-car voice. At the same time, strengthening the protection of personal information of intelligent networked vehicles has become a widespread concern of the society and the public. On March 14, 2025, the Key Laboratory of Mobile Application Innovation and Governance Technology of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "CAICT") of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a seminar on personal information protection standards for intelligent networked vehicles. Shi Denian, Chairman of TC11 of China Communications Standards Association (CCSA), attended the meeting, and representatives from Ideal, NIO, Tesla, Xpeng, BMW, Zeekr, BYD, Changan, Xiaomi Automobile, Huawei, AutoNavi, Meizu, iQiyi, Ant, Tuhu and other enterprises attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the CAICT introduced the background of the formulation of six standards for the personal information protection of intelligent networked vehicles, the framework of the standard system and the technical testing plan. Representatives of the participating units discussed the core needs, compliance practices, and technical challenges of personal information protection of intelligent networked vehicles, and put forward constructive suggestions on the standard framework and technical testing schemes.

In the next step, CAICT will unite industrial forces, gather industry consensus, and steadily promote the development of a series of standards for personal information protection of intelligent networked vehicles, and welcome relevant enterprises to actively participate.
