From June 18 to 20, 2024, a delegation of 6 people led by Tran Duy Hai, Deputy Director General of the VNTA of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam, visited the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as "CAICT"). Wei Ran, chief engineer of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, attended the meeting. This is the second time that the Vietnamese side has come to CAICT for technical exchange activities after a high-level delegation led by Vietnam's Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyen Manh Hung, visited CAICT in November 2023 and reached a cooperation intention.

Wei Ran extended a warm welcome to Tran Duy Hai and his entourage. He pointed out that CAICT attaches great importance to international cooperation and international business development, Southeast Asia is a very important market, and hopes to work with theVNTA of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam to implement the important consensus reached by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam, deepen practical cooperation in the fields of 5G, artificial intelligence and information and communication infrastructure interconnection, and contribute to the construction of advanced information and communication infrastructure and the realization of economic prosperity and development of Vietnam.

Tran Duy Hai said that Vietnam is China's neighbor and attaches great importance to its relations with China. We hope to take advantage of this exchange to have in-depth exchanges with CAICT on ICT equipment certification, ICT equipment import and export inspection, regulatory requirements, capacity building, and management experience of ICT equipment testing standardization system, and learn from China's experience.

Experts from CTTL Terminal Labs, CTTL System Laboratory, Security Research Institute, Institute of Technology and Standards, and POTINTECH (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. had a full exchange with the Vietnamese side on topics such as China's telecom equipment regulatory system, 5G terminal equipment and 5G system equipment inspection and testing system, China's 5G security evaluation, and China's 5G application practice. The Vietnamese side also introduced its telecommunications equipment regulatory system and the development of the digital economy.

After the three-day exchange, Tran Duy Hai highly appreciated the strength and experience of CAICT in ICT equipment inspection and testing, and hoped to further strengthen mutual visits and research, and strive to implement some specific cooperation matters.

This exchange is of positive significance for enhancing the international influence of CAICT and publicizing the inspection and testing business capabilities of CAICT, and it is also a positive attempt by governments around the world to export China's solutions in the context of accelerating the in-depth promotion of digital governance.
