In order to reflect the actual experience rate of domestic 5G users, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) compiled and analyzed the measured network speed data of the 5G cloud test platform in the first quarter of 2022 and compiled this monitoring report. The 5G cloud test platform adopts the "APP + cloud platform" mode, and the 5G cloud test APP users actively conduct network speed tests, and there are uncertainties in the test time, location, and wireless environment, and the test results only reflect the actual network speed perceived by the 5G cloud test APP users. The results presented in this report are for reference only.
Figure 1 The average download rate of users of the three types of wireless networks in China
China's 5G download rate remains above 10 times that of 4G. According to the measured data of the 5G cloud testing platform, in the first quarter of 2022, the average user download rate of 5G in China was 304.8Mbps (the average user upload rate was 49.6Mbps), the average user download rate of 4G was 27.8Mbps (the average user upload rate was 2.9Mbps), and the average user download rate of Wi-Fi was 179.7Mbps (the average user upload rate was 36.3Mbps).
From the perspective of user experience by province, Heilongjiang, Yunnan, Inner Mongolia, Hainan, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Xinjiang, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong and other 5G users have high average download speeds, with the highest reaching 358.8Mbps. Yunnan, Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Hainan, Heilongjiang, Gansu, Shanghai, Hunan, Xinjiang, Henan and other 5G users have high average upload speeds, with the highest upload rate reaching 69.8 Mbps.
From the perspective of user experience in key cities (31 provincial capitals and 5 cities with separate planning), Harbin, Qingdao, Kunming, Ningbo, Shijiazhuang, Urumqi, Haikou, Shenyang, Jinan, Shanghai and other 5G users have high average download speeds, with the highest download rate reaching 389.2Mbps. Jinan, Kunming, Harbin, Zhengzhou, Haikou, Guiyang, Guangzhou, Dalian, Urumqi, Shanghai and other 5G users have high average upload speeds, with the highest upload rate reaching 76.7Mbps.
Figure 2 Proportion of SA and NSA connections between 5G mobile terminals
The SA connection of 5G mobile phone terminals accounts for more than 75%. China's 5G SA network has basically achieved nationwide coverage, and the 5G SA function is enabled by default for new 5G mobile terminals. According to the measured data of the 5G cloud testing platform, the SA connection of 5G mobile phone terminals in China accounts for 76.8%, and the proportion of NSA connection is 23.2%, of which the SA connection of mainstream mobile phone terminals such as Honor, Samsung, OPPO, Huawei, Realme, and iPhone accounts for more than 90%.
