First, the overall situation of the domestic mobile phone market

In August 2024, 24.047 million mobile phones were shipped in the domestic market, a year-on-year increase of 26.7%, of which 19.754 million 5G mobile phones were shipped, a year-on-year increase of 26.3%, accounting for 82.1% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

From January to August 2024, the domestic market shipped 195 million mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 16.6%, of which 165 million 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 23.9%, accounting for 84.5% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In August 2024, 47 new models of domestic mobile phones were listed, a year-on-year decrease of 14.5%, of which 29 were 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year decrease of 3.3%, accounting for 61.7% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

From January to August 2024, 281 new models of domestic mobile phones were listed, a year-on-year decrease of 4.1%, of which 151 were 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 13.5%, accounting for 53.7% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

Second, the composition of domestic and foreign brands in the domestic mobile phone market

In August 2024, domestic brand mobile phone shipments were 22.178 million units, a year-on-year increase of 31.7%, accounting for 92.2% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; 40 new models were launched, a year-on-year decrease of 14.9%, accounting for 85.1% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

From January to August 2024, domestic brand mobile phone shipments were 168 million units, a year-on-year increase of 21.3%, accounting for 86.0% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; 260 new models were listed, a year-on-year decrease of 2.3%, accounting for 92.5% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.

Third, the development of domestic smart phones

In August 2024, smartphone shipments reached 21.098 million units, a year-on-year increase of 17.7%, accounting for 87.7% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; There were 33 new smartphone models, down 28.3% year-on-year, accounting for 70.2% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.

From January to August 2024, smartphone shipments were 182 million units, a year-on-year increase of 14.1%, accounting for 93.4% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; There were 200 new smartphone models, a year-on-year decrease of 19.0%, accounting for 71.2% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.
