1. The overall situation of the domestic mobile phone market
In August 2025, mobile phone shipments in the domestic market were 22.603 million units, down 6.0% year-on-year, of which 19.992 million 5G mobile phones were shipped, a year-on-year increase of 1.2%, accounting for 88.4% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.
From January to August 2025, mobile phone shipments in the domestic market will be 192 million units, down 1.7% year-on-year, of which 5G mobile phones will be 163 million units, down 1.0% year-on-year, accounting for 85.1% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In August 2025, 65 new models of domestic mobile phones were launched, a year-on-year increase of 32.7%, of which 31 were 5G mobile phones, the same as the same period last year, accounting for 47.7% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.
From January to August 2025, 351 new models of domestic mobile phones were launched, a year-on-year increase of 19.4%, of which 157 5G mobile phones were launched, a year-on-year decrease of 4.3%, accounting for 44.7% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.

2. The composition of domestic and foreign brands in the domestic mobile phone market
In August 2025, domestic brand mobile phone shipments were 21.298 million units, down 4.0% year-on-year, accounting for 94.2% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; 63 new models were launched by domestic brands, a year-on-year increase of 50.0%, accounting for 96.9% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.
From January to August 2025, domestic brand mobile phones were shipped 169 million units, a year-on-year increase of 0.6%, accounting for 88.0% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; 334 new models were launched by domestic brands, a year-on-year increase of 22.3%, accounting for 95.2% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.

3. The development of domestic smartphones
In August 2025, smartphone shipments were 21.644 million units, a year-on-year increase of 2.6%, accounting for 95.8% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; 49 new models of smartphones were launched, a year-on-year increase of 40.0%, accounting for 75.4% of the number of new models launched in the same period.
From January to August 2025, smartphone shipments will be 176 million units, down 3.4% year-on-year, accounting for 91.8% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; 230 new models of smartphones were launched, an increase of 8.0% year-on-year, accounting for 65.5% of the number of new models launched in the same period.
