First, the overall situation of the domestic mobile phone market

In December 2023, the domestic market shipped 28.275 million mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 1.5%, of which 24.200 million 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%, accounting for 85.6% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

From January to December 2023, the overall shipments of mobile phones in the domestic market totaled 289 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%, of which 5G mobile phone shipments totaled 240 million units, a year-on-year increase of 11.9%, accounting for 82.8% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In December 2023, 26 new models of domestic mobile phones were launched, a year-on-year decrease of 38.1%, of which 11 were 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year decrease of 38.9%, accounting for 42.3% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

From January to December 2023, a total of 441 new models were listed, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%, of which 214 were 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%, accounting for 48.5% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

Second, the composition of domestic and foreign brands in the domestic mobile phone market

In December 2023, 24.554 million domestic brand mobile phones were shipped, up 11.7% year-on-year, accounting for 86.8% of mobile phone shipments in the same period, and 26 new models were listed, down 35.0% year-on-year, accounting for 100.0% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

From January to December 2023, the total number of domestic brand mobile phone shipments was 231 million units, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%, accounting for 79.9% of the mobile phone shipments in the same period, and the total number of new models on the market was 406, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%, accounting for 92.1% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

Third, the development of domestic smart phones

In December 2023, smartphone shipments reached 26.836 million units, basically the same as the same period last year, accounting for 94.9% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. From January to December 2023, smartphone shipments reached 276 million units, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%, accounting for 95.6% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In December 2023, 19 new smartphone models were launched, a year-on-year decrease of 42.4%, accounting for 73.1% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period. From January to December 2023, a total of 356 new smartphone models were launched, a year-on-year increase of 1.4%, accounting for 80.7% of the number of new models launched in the same period.
