CAICT released an analysis report on the operation of the domestic mobile phone market in March 2025: 22.765 million units were shipped, of which 5G mobile phones accounted for 85.3%

First, the overall situation of the domestic mobile phone market

In March 2025, the domestic market shipped 22.765 million mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%, of which 19.424 million 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%, accounting for 85.3% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In January ~ March 2025, the domestic market shipped 69.67 million mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%, of which 61.043 million 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 8.2%, accounting for 87.6% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In March 2025, 64 new models of mobile phones were launched in China, a year-on-year increase of 30.6%, of which 33 were 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 32.0%, accounting for 51.6% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

In January ~ March 2025, 113 new models of domestic mobile phones were listed, a year-on-year increase of 9.7%, of which 63 were 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 14.5%, accounting for 55.8% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

Second, Composition of domestic and foreign brands in the domestic mobile phone market

In March 2025, domestic brand mobile phone shipments were 20.878 million units, a year-on-year increase of 18.4%, accounting for 91.7% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; 63 new models were launched by domestic brands, a year-on-year increase of 40.0%, accounting for 98.4% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.

In January ~ March 2025, 60.747 million domestic brand mobile phones were shipped, a year-on-year increase of 9.0%, accounting for 87.2% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; There were 111 new models launched by domestic brands, a year-on-year increase of 18.1%, accounting for 98.2% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.

Third, the development of domestic smart phones

In March 2025, smartphone shipments reached 21.43 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%, accounting for 94.1% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; There were 48 new smartphone models, a year-on-year increase of 54.8%, accounting for 75.0% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.

In January ~ March 2025, smartphone shipments were 6454.2 units, a year-on-year increase of 1.2%, accounting for 92.6% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; There were 84 new smartphone models, a year-on-year increase of 18.3%, accounting for 74.3% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.
