First, the overall situation of the domestic mobile phone market

In May 2023, the domestic market shipped 26.037 million mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 25.2%, of which 20.169 million 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%, accounting for 77.5% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

From January to May 2023, the overall shipments of mobile phones in the domestic market totaled 108 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7%, of

which 5G mobile phone shipments were 84.967 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 1.4%, accounting for 79.0% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In May 2023, 32 new models of domestic mobile phones were launched, a year-on-year increase of

33.3%, including 11 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 22.2%, accounting for 34.4% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

From January to May 2023, a total of 181 new models were listed, a year-on-year increase of 8.4%, of which 78 were 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year decrease of 10.3%, accounting for 43.1% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

Second, the composition of domestic and foreign brands in the domestic mobile phone market

In May 2023, 22.434 million domestic brand mobile phones were shipped, up 35.1% year-on-year, accounting for 86.2% of mobile phone shipments in the same period, and 31 new models were launched, up 34.8% year-on-year, accounting for 96.9% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

From January to May 2023, the total number of domestic brand mobile phone shipments was 85.54 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 5.7%, accounting for 79.6% of the mobile phone shipments in the same period, and the total number of new models listed in the same

period was 169, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%, accounting for 93.4% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

Third, the development of domestic smart phones

In May 2023, smartphone shipments reached 25.196 million units, a year-on-year increase of 22.6%, accounting for 96.8% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. From January to May 2023, smartphone shipments were 104 million units, down 2.6% year-on-year, accounting for 96.3% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In May 2023, 27 new smartphone models were launched, a year-on-year increase of 42.1%, accounting for 84.4% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period. From January to May 2023, a total of 158 new smartphone models were launched, a year-on-year increase of 12.9%, accounting for 87.3% of the number of new models launched in the same period.
