First, the overall situation of the domestic mobile phone market

In September 2024, the domestic market shipped 25.371 million mobile phones, down 23.8% year-on-year, of which 22.316 million 5G mobile phones, down 22.3% year-on-year, accounting for 88.0% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

From January to September 2024, the domestic market shipped 220 million mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 9.9%, of which 187 million 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%, accounting for 84.9% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In September 2024, 35 new models of domestic mobile phones were launched, a year-on-year decrease of 16.7%, of which 13 were 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year decrease of 35.0%, accounting for 37.1% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

From January to September 2024, 316 new models of domestic mobile phones were listed, a year-on-year decrease of 5.7%, of which 164 were 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 7.2%, accounting for 51.9% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

Second, the composition of domestic and foreign brands in the domestic mobile phone market

In September 2024, domestic brand mobile phone shipments were 20.359 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 18.4%, accounting for 80.2% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; 34 new models were listed, a year-on-year decrease of 17.1%, accounting for 97.1% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

From January to September 2024, domestic brand mobile phone shipments were 188 million units, a year-on-year increase of 15.2%, accounting for 85.3% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; 294 new models were listed, a year-on-year decrease of 4.2%, accounting for 93.0% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

Third, the development of domestic smart phones

In September 2024, smartphone shipments were 23.717 million units, down 25.7% year-on-year, accounting for 93.5% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; There were 18 new models of smartphones on the market, a year-on-year decrease of 43.8%, accounting for 51.4% of the number of new models on the market in the same period.

From January to September 2024, smartphone shipments reached 206 million units, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%, accounting for 93.4% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; There were 218 new smartphone models, down 21.9% year-on-year, accounting for 69.0% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.
