On October 5, 2025, the national standard GB/T 46367-2025 "Technical Requirements and Test Methods for the Reliability of Mobile Communication Terminals" led by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "CAICT") was officially released, which will be fully implemented from May 1, 2026.
The standard divides reliability content into two categories: environmental adaptability and mechanical reliability, and is applicable to various communication terminal products such as mobile handhelds, wearable devices, tablets, and smart speakers. Environmental adaptability covers requirements such as low-temperature storage/operation, high-temperature storage/operation, temperature shock, humidity and heat, and protection level, while mechanical reliability includes drops (directional drops, free drops, slight drops), interface life, button life, folding life, shock, collision, random vibration and other items. This standard builds a systematic evaluation system for the reliability level of mobile communication terminals, and sets three test severity level grading requirements according to product usage scenarios or structural characteristics, filling the gap in relevant industry standards.

In order to effectively promote the implementation of national standards, the TL Certification Center of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and the CTTL Terminal Labs have simultaneously launched testing and certification services based on GB/T 46367-2025, which aims to guide the industry to pay more attention to the reliability level of terminal products, and also provide an authoritative reference for consumers to purchase communication terminal products.
In the future, CAICT will continue to rely on the advantages of our country's mobile communication terminal industry cluster, deepen standard research and related industrial services, continuously meet the people's demand for high-quality mobile communication terminals, and further enhance the global competitiveness of our country's mobile communication terminal industry.
