On July 24, 2026, the South African Independent Communications Authority (ICASA) released the "2026 National Radio Frequency Plan" (NRFP-26) and announced that the "2021 National Radio Frequency Plan" would be abolished effective from the date NRFP-26 was released. NRFP-26 allocates frequencies for various radio communication services within the radio frequency spectrum from 8.3 kHz to 3000 GHz.
Additionally, on July 29, ICASA announced the official launch of the Electronic Frequency Information System (EFIS), enabling users to smoothly browse the entire National Radio Frequency Plan, conduct precise searches for specific frequency bands, and instantly access relevant regulatory and technical documents.
