On August 12, 2026, Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) issued Act No. 10400/2026, bringing significant changes to the regulatory requirements for Wi-Fi equipment using the 6 GHz band. This act amends Law No. 14448 and narrows the frequency range currently allowed for Wi-Fi to operate within the 6 GHz band. Under the new requirements, the 6425–7125 MHz band will no longer be used for Wi-Fi operations. ANATEL plans to reserve the 6 GHz high band for IMT mobile communication services (including 5G-A and 6G networks), while aligning with international spectrum policies following WRC-23 (the 2023 World Radio Communication Congress).

The regulations have now been issued and are in effect, with a mandatory enforcement date set for March 1, 2027. For existing ANATEL certified products whose validity period has exceeded this date, the certificate renewal process will require compliance with the new frequency range requirements, and attention should be paid to shutting down the relevant bands.
