On October 16, 2026, India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) issued Announcement S.O. 5689(E), extending the compliance implementation period for "standalone hard disk drives" under the Electronics and Information Technology Products (Mandatory Registration Requirements) Act 2021. The implementation date has been adjusted from November 5, 2026, to May 1, 2027, to allow manufacturers and importers to prepare to meet relevant compliance requirements。
