Canada: ISED is seeking comments on the draft RSS-193 Issue 2, which will expand the millimeter wave spectrum

On July 13, 2026, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) publicly solicited comments on the draft RSS-193 Issue 2. Compared to Issue 1, released on July 11, 2025, the main changes in the draft of Issue 2 are:

  • Added 24.25-27.5 GHz (n258) spectrum, connecting with the existing 27.5-28.35 GHz (n261) spectrum;
  • Added 37.6-40.0 GHz (n260);
  • Base station equipment operating in the 24.45-24.65 GHz band must indicate in the device unit or user manual: "Operation within 24.45-24.65 GHz is intended for indoor use only";
  • There are special requirements for spurious noise in the 23.6-24GHz band: base station equipment requires -39dBW/200MHz, and user devices require -35dBW/200MHz.
