On October 8, 2026, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) released the radio standard specification RSS-247 Issue 4 Amd1. This standard applies to frequency hopping systems (FHS), digital transmission systems (DTS), hybrid systems, and license-free local area network LE-LAN wireless devices in the 902-928 MHz, 2400-2483.5 MHz, 5150-5350 MHz, and 5470-5895 MHz frequency bands. ISED has customarily set a six-month transition period.
This update mainly considers the related updates introduced in RSS-Gen Issue 6, specifically including:
- 7.3.6.3 b), For devices with transmit bandwidth fully or partially in the 5600-5650 MHz range, when using the ETSI EN 301 893 test program, the channel availability check time has been changed from 60 s to 10 minutes.
- 7.3.6.3 d), For similar devices using the ETSI program, the channel shutdown transmission time is relaxed from 200 ms + 60 ms intermittent control signals to 1 second.
