On October 29, 2026, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) released the radio standard specification RSS-193 Issue 2. This standard applies to Flexible Use Broadband Equipment Operating in the Bands 24.25-28.35 GHz and 37.6-40.0 GHz. The main updates include: the expanded applicable frequency bands from 27.5–28.35 GHz to two major millimeter wave bands: 24.25–28.35 GHz and 37.6–40.0 GHz; and some editorial revisions.

The standard takes effect from the date of publication on the official website, with a 6-month transition period, during which certification applications can be submitted for either version 1 or version 2; After the transition period ends, relevant equipment circulating, importing, and selling in the Canadian market must comply with the requirements of version 2.
