Only the flowchart and the corresponding Doc 01 (Light), Doc 02 (Tight) and Doc 03 (Intermediate) procedure documents have been updated. Under this update, manufacturers located in Category 1 or Category 3 countries can follow the Light certification procedure if they have the relevant R&D/manufacturing ISO certificate, and the issuing authority of the certificate is located in the Category 1 country and is recognized by the IAF. Previously, manufacturers located in Category 3 countries were unable to follow the above process. Although China falls into the second category of countries as defined in the document, manufacturer could still follow the Light scheme if the manufacturer has oversea branches in Category 1 or Category 3 countries. For Chinese manufacturers don't have oversea branches, these manufacturers are not affected by this update.
