On May 11, 2026, the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) issued Announcement No. 2026-143, planning to revise safety standards related to tablets and batteries. The main revisions include:

• Tablets: Improve the standards for determining screen diagonal length for product classification;
• Battery: Updated self-inspection test items for individual cells. Currently, related testing items cover safety checks for short circuits, drops, overcharging, and more.
