On September 15, 2026, the Korea National Radio Research Agency (RRA) launched a public consultation on a proposed draft amendment to the "Technical Standards for Terminal Equipment." The proposal aims to clarify the regulatory scope for IP-based video surveillance equipment (i.e., network cameras); At the same time, if the relevant requirements overlap with existing information security certification tests, the proposal considers exemptions for certain technical testing items. This move aims to optimize the applicability of terminal device-related requirements and is expected to avoid repeated compliance assessments. Since the proposal is still under consultation, the current requirements remain in effect until the revision is finalized.
