Chile: SUBTEL expanded the 2300–2360 MHz band for 5G private networks

On October 8, 2026, Chile's Telecommunications Authority (SUBTEL) announced updates to technical regulations for "limited telecommunications services," expanding the available spectrum range from the 2300 MHz band to 2360 MHz. This adjustment provides a total of 60 MHz of spectrum resources for private and industrial networks, and requires the adoption of 5G and more advanced efficient technologies.

This initiative aims to support industrial applications with higher bandwidth requirements and lower latency requirements, including automation, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence. SUBTEL clearly stipulates that to use all 60 MHz spectrum, 5G or more advanced high-efficiency technologies must be used; If 4G technology is used, the maximum spectrum occupancy is 40 MHz. Additionally, service areas must be clearly defined and restricted to prevent harmful interference with other services.
