On February 8, 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) of Vietnam issued a draft circular that will replace Circular 02/2022/TT-BTTTT "Regulations on the list of products and goods that may cause unsafe under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Information and Communications". The MIC has added new standards, including the following:
- QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT – RF EMC standard for wireless audio equipment;
- QCVN 131:2022/BTTTT – EUTRA NB-IoT RF standard;
- QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT – Safety standard for tablets, desktop computers and laptops, DECT telephones, set-top boxes and televisions;
- QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT – RF EMC standard for radar 76-77 GHz and 5G;
- QCVN 65:2013/BTTTT will be invalidated, and QCVN 65:2021/BTTTT will be enforced.
According to the new circular, the type approval certificate must be updated to the new standard and a test report for the new safety or EMC standard must be obtained. The draft notice will take effect on July 1, 2023.
