Costa Rica: SUTEL conducts public consultation on the use of Automatic Frequency Coordination (AFC) for 6 GHz Wi-Fi
Officially published at:2026-05-15On May 15, 2026, Costa Rica's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (SUTEL) launched two public consultations in the official gazette on the use of Automatic Frequency Coordination (AFC) for 6 GHz Wi-Fi, aiming to establish a regulatory framework for standard power communication using AFC systems in the 5925 MHz to 7125 MHz band (6 GHz band).
This consultation covers the following topics:
- GCO-DGC-APA-00832-2026: "Automatic Frequency Coordination (AFC) Database Expert Administrator Certification Procedure."
- GCO-DGC-HPE-00833-2026: "Standard Power Equipment Type Approval Application Procedure for Automatic Frequency Coordination System Operating Frequency Range from 5925 MHz to 7125 MHz (6 GHz band)".
