On September 2, 2026, the Lebanese Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) issued notice number TRA/PRE/327-020926, clarifying the model approval procedures for devices with telecommunications capabilities. According to this explicit regulation, the model approval application must be submitted in the name of the manufacturer. The application can be submitted directly by the manufacturer or by its authorized representative. The corresponding type approval certificate will be issued in the manufacturer's name for specific approved models or products. After the certificate is issued, all importers importing products with the same approval can import according to the model approval. As long as the imported equipment meets the model and technical specifications covered by the valid certificate, there is no need to apply separately for the certificate for a specific importer.

On January 22, 2026, the Lebanese Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) issued a resolution No.3/2026 updating the type approval regulations. This update mainly updates the certification fee requirements and labeling requirements. The left side of the label is a QR code, and the text on the right is TRA Lebanon and Type Approved, as shown in the figure below.

TRA also emphasizes in the Q&A page of its website that tags can only be purchased from TRA, and do not use the example label above directly.
